To Georgetown Friends and Family,
We hope this message finds you well, and we are excited to share a few updates with you all regarding Senior Parents Family Weekend which will be occurring during the weekend of February 11-13, 2022.
Senior Parent Family Weekend
Senior Parent Family Weekend is an opportunity for family members to visit campus and enjoy special events with their student(s) and the people who make Georgetown special – faculty members, friends, and organizations that bring campus to life. Featured events of the weekend include The President’s Reception, the Cherry Tree Massacre a cappella concert, professor lecture series, a Georgetown Men’s Basketball game at Capital One Arena, Senior Auction and more. Specific information related to the times and locations for this schedule will be shared in the future. If you have any questions please email us at email@example.com.
Cap, Gown, and Hood Pick Up
During Senior Parents and Families Weekend, the Senior Class Committee and the Georgetown University Bookstore are sponsoring the Class of 2022 Grad Salute. Seniors and their families will be provided with a one-stop-shop at the Georgetown University Bookstore to pick up their caps and gowns, as well as meet with representatives from Jostens, Herff Jones, Churchill Frames, and Framing Success.
Students are strongly urged to purchase their caps, gowns and hoods at the Georgetown University Bookstore during one of the following dates and times:
Friday, February 11 9:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M.
Saturday, February 12 10:00 A.M – 6:00 P.M
Sunday, February 13 10:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Per Georgetown’s COVID-19 protocols, all visitors to Georgetown University’s campus must be vaccinated. Further information on how to register as a vaccinated visitor and the details behind the process will be sent via email at a later date.
We are also excited to announce that our live and silent auction will take place on Saturday, February 12! More information, including the location and event time, will be announced soon. We are emailing you now with our Spring auction just around the corner to ask for an in-kind donation for the 41st Annual Senior Auction.
As we transition back from online schooling to in-person classes, we will need as much support as possible to ensure all senior events are inclusive and fulfilling to all 1,600 students in the class. The funds raised from this event will go towards increasing access for students to senior graduation events and will help foster a welcoming environment for all students. In the past, we have successfully raised over $60,000 in proceeds to help fund student events, and we hope that we will be able to successfully surpass that goal this year. Especially after being away from campus for a year and a half, we want to help all seniors be able to fully participate in SCC events without any financial barriers.
Some donations in the past have included a weekend stay at a vacation house, dinners, gift cards, behind-the-scenes tours, unique experiences, wine baskets, and much more! Please feel free to email me personally with any questions or donation suggestions. If you are interested in advertising your business or organization in return for your donation, I have also attached our SCC Sponsorship Guide.
We would appreciate any donation or help that you can offer! If you are able to donate, please fill out this donation form with your information. If you are interested or have any questions, please email our Auction Chair Olivia Kleier at firstname.lastname@example.org.
