Welcome to the 39th Annual Georgetown University Senior Class Auction!
February 8, 2020
Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center, 3800 Reservoir Rd NW, Washington, DC 20057
What is the Senior Auction?
The Senior Auction is a charitable auction held during Senior Parents Weekend. The goal of Senior Auction is to celebrate the outgoing senior class and to fundraise for the class’ graduation activities, such as Senior Ball, Senior Week, and other Senior-centric programming. All profit from Senior Auction goes directly into making these events more accessible for all seniors, making it a foundational part of every senior’s Georgetown experience.
Senior Auction presents a fun chance for students and parents to meet and reflect on their times at Georgetown with the senior class community.
When is the Senior Auction?
The Senior Auction is February 8, 2020, Saturday of Senior Parents and Family Weekend.
For the first time ever, the Auction will be live online at http://bidpal.net/classof20 from October 5-25, 2019. This will allow parents and families who are unable to travel to Georgetown for Senior Parents Weekend still support their Hoya!
Where is the Senior Auction?
The Senior Auction is at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center. The address is 3800 Reservoir Rd NW, Washington, DC 20057, USA, conveniently located next to the Leavey Center on campus.
What is the dress code for the Senior Auction?
The dress code for the auction is cocktail attire.
Will dinner be served?
Unfortunately, we will not be serving a sit-down dinner at this event. There will be light hors d’oeuvres throughout the Silent Auction reception.
Will I be able to purchase drinks?
Yes! Each ticket comes with a certain number of drink tickets, depending on what ticket tier you purchased. Additional drinks will be available for purchase at the check-in desk.
Where can I make a donation?
Can I still donate if I am unable to attend auction?
Yes! We appreciate donations of any kind regardless of your attendance. If you would still like to participate in the Auction, it will run online from October 5-25, 2019.
Do you accept monetary donations?
Yes! You can donate here.
What is the online auction?
The online auction is a chance for Hoya parents and families who are unable to travel to Georgetown for Senior Parents Weekend to support the senior class. The items will be available for a three week period, at which time bidders place bids online. Once the auction is closed, we will contact the winning bidders about how they will receive their items.
When is the online auction?
The online auction will run from October 5, 2019, at 12:00AM EST until October 25, 2019, at 11:59PM EST.
How do I register for the online auction?
You can register with BidPal, our online auction platform. To register, please go to http://bidpal.net/classof20 and click “Sign In” in the upper right corner. Registration will only take a few minutes and is necessary to bid on any items. When asked to enter your credit card information, please do so.
Can I participate in the online auction and still attend Senior Auction in February?
Yes! We strongly encourage your attendance at Senior Auction, as it is one of the hallmark events of senior year.
If you are also interested in participating in the online auction, the items offered online will not be the same as though offered during the Silent and Live Auctions in February.
How will I receive an item if I win?
Depending on the item, arrangements will be made for it to be picked up by your senior or mailed directly to you.
Where do I purchase tickets?
Tickets will be available for purchase via Eventbrite in late November. There are three tiers of tickets, each with different perks (drink tickets, early access to the Silent Auction, etc.).
Once you purchase your ticket, you will need to register an account on our auction platform, at http://bidpal.net/classof20. This will ensure that you have a bidder number for the event.
Is the Auction included in Senior Parents Weekend?
While an integral part of Senior Parents Weekend, the Auction is not included in the weekend tickets. You will need to purchase additional tickets for Senior Auction.
Do I need to purchase a ticket for my senior?
Yes! While tickets are not required for seniors for Senior Parents Weekend, tickets are required for all attendees of Senior Auction.
How do I make a seating request?
If you register for one of the top two tiers, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org with the names of everyone in your party. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate more than 12 people per table.
Do I still need to register for the Senior Auction?
Yes! You can register with BidPal, our online auction platform. To register, please go to http://bidpal.net/classof20 and click “Sign In” in the upper right corner. Registration will only take a few minutes and is necessary to bid on any items. When asked to enter your credit card information, please do so.
If you have already created an account for the online auction in October, you do not need to create a second account for the live auction in February.
I can no longer attend the Senior Auction. Can I get a refund?
Refunds requests will be granted up to 7 days in advance of Senior Auction. After that, unfortunately, we will not be able to grant you a refund. No exceptions will be made.
More information will be released as we get closer to the event, but if you have questions in the meantime, please email Emily Jonsson (COL ‘20) at email@example.com.
We can’t wait to see you there!
