Friday, February 2rd

Registration (10am-4pm)

Location: Healy Foyer

Stop by Healy Foyer to pick up your registration materials.

Graduate Salute (9am-7pm)

Location: Georgetown University Bookstore

Set aside some time to stop by the Graduate Salute at the Georgetown University Bookstore. Vendors will be here all weekend selling all the graduation essentials (robes, diploma frames, class rings, etc.) that you will want to purchase before the craziness of graduation weekend is upon us.

Faculty Lecture 1: “A Progress Report on the War on Terrorism” (11-11:50am)

Location: Reiss 112

Join Professor Daniel Byman, a renowned professor in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and the Research Director of the Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution, for this captivating lecture in his area of specialty. This event is open to both students and parents and is the perfect time for parents to get a glimpse into what student life is like here at Georgetown.

Faculty Lecture 2: “Jazz in Washington D.C.” (2-2:50pm)

Location: Reiss 112

Professor Maurice Jackson teaches in the History Department, African American Studies Program, and is an Affiliated Professor in Music (Jazz). He is an incredible advocate and activist in D.C. in conjunction with his teaching and research. He will be joining us to combine his disciplines on a lecture touching on his newly released co-edited book Jazz in D.C. This event is open to both students and parents!

Muslim, English Jum’ah (1:30pm)

Location: Bulldog Alley, Leavey Center

Interreligious Dialogue: Faith After Georgetown (4pm)

Location: St. William’s Chapel

Join a panel of distinguished faculty members from various faith traditions for a compelling discussion on the transition of faith from Georgetown to the world beyond. This panel will give you the opportunity to learn more about the impact of the Georgetown experience on students and how students can take what they have learned and apply it to life after Georgetown.

Welcome Reception (5:00-7:00pm)

Location: Healey Family Student Center, Great Room

Kick off the weekend with the President’s Welcome Reception during which President DeGioia will address the senior class and its parents. The event will include a selection of hors d’oeuvres and bars and will be the perfect way to start this monumental weekend surrounded by friends and family.

Jewish Service (6:30pm)

Location: Makom (Leavey Center North)

Hoyas Night Out (9pm-12am)

Location: throughout Georgetown

Saturday, February 3rd

Jesuit Heritage Tour with Father Matthew Carnes at 10:30am

Location: Meet at the John Carroll Statue at Healy Circle

* Limited space. Registration required.

Join Father Matthew Carnes, S.J., Associate Professor in the Department of Government and the School of Foreign Service, for a unique campus experience. Tour Georgetown’s campus and learn fun, and little-known, facts about the University’s Jesuit history and traditions.

Georgetown Tour with Dr. Todd Olson, VP for Student Affairs (3pm)

Location: Meet at the John Carroll Statue at Healy Circle

Take a walk through Georgetown University’s history with VP for Student Affairs Todd Olson. See historical spaces and brand new buildings. Learn about the distinct history and founding of Georgetown as well as the history of the neighborhood.

Senior Auction (7:30pm -11pm)

Location: JW Marriott in Downtown D.C.

Join us at the 37th Annual Senior Auction to celebrate the outgoing senior class and to fundraise for the class’ graduation activities, such as Senior Ball, Senior Week, and other Senior-centric programming. All profit from Senior Ball goes directly into making these events more accessible for all seniors, making Senior Auction a foundational part of every senior’s Georgetown experience. Senior Auction presents a fun chance for students and parents to meet and reflect on their times at Georgetown with the senior class community.
